SUSTAINABILITY & ECO FRIENDLY PACKAGING

It is estimated £140 million worth of clothing goes into landfill each year, approx 300,000 tonnes.

We are making every effort to offer a more sustainable Collection of Clothing by steering away from China, India the Far East & Middle East steering fueling sweat shop poverty, bringing business, sourcing, skills, craftsmanship & manufacturing back to Europe & the UK.

The reason for pre-ordering is because we are conscious of the carbon foot print by producing tens of thousands of pieces shipping them around the world & part ending up going into the sale not being sold; therefore being wasted, burnt or going to landfill.

Fast cheap fashion from Turkey, India & China promotes & fuels world poverty, unliveable wages, over production, appalling work conditions.

We have carefully picked factories and suppliers in the UK & Europe who can work with smaller quantities providing a more bespoke service to our customers, only making what we actually need, order by order. This means higher prices but look how this contributes to world change & making a difference.

In turn this takes longer & requires increased production time but is kinder to our planet and more sustainable all round.

Our collection is put together with 'timeless' at the forefront of our purpose.

These pieces are not a trend; fast fashion, in one season & out the next but to join & blend with your existing wardrobe & remain there.....regardless of time, season, place, event.... which equals sustainability & trans seasonal value.

Versatile styles to be worn in all environments, places, parts of your day. Core designs for multi purpose, versatility & longevity fit for all seasons not one.

Packaging:

We are making every effort to reduce our use of plastic, we no longer use plastic tags on the garments, we have moved over to wrapping our garments in eco recyclable and compostable brown paper, eco brown packing tape, & cotton bags instead of plastic bags.

By Jan '23 we will have moved over to eco recyclable bio degradable postage bags completing the Eco Friendly packaging & posting system. A small contribution to cutting down on waste but an important one if every company & manufacturer did the same.

How you can make a difference:

  • Change your attitude to shopping - Look at your labels & see where the clothes are made? Make a conscious effort not to buy clothes Made in China, Made in India, Buy Second Hand, Buy Vintage & Rent Clothes.
  • Invest in Trans seasonal clothes - buy clothes you know you are going to use & wear all the year round.
  • Practice the 30 wears test - The 30 Wears campaign to encourage us to only buy an item if we really know that we'll wear it.The biggest message is every time you buy something, always think, 'Will I wear it a minimum of 30 times?' If the answer is yes, then buy it but you'd be surprised how many times you say no.
  • Choose Quality over Quantity - It's all about planning. Buying better quality, more sustainable pieces is likely to cost you more money than buying a cheap high-street product that doesn't tick the right boxes. However, it's all about changing your mindset. Yes, it costs more, but you're likely to have it for longer and will be buying less per season overall. Buying 10-30 high-quality items a year, rather than 60 cheaper, less eco-friendly pieces, will dramatically reduce your carbon footprint. Basically, save up, invest and buy less. Less is always more.
  • Adjust how you spend your money - Change what you splurge on. Instead of spending your savings on a dress for a wedding or a pair of shoes that you'll only wear for special occasions, spend your 'investment' cash on the things you wear every day. Stop thinking, 'I would never spend that much on a pair of jeans'. Instead, consider that you are only going to buy one pair of jeans this year, or one coat or one item this month – and make it that. After a few seasons, you will have a high-quality, sustainable wardrobe to be proud of.
  • Change your perspective - With more and more brands seeing the importance of an environmental focus, dressing sustainably no longer means compromising – stop thinking it does.
  • Donate your un-wanted clothes
  • Look after your clothes so they last longer - wash them more carefully, don't wash them on hot washes, don't tumble dry them & repair them if need be. Saving hot water, electricity and heating helps energy sources, the environment & saves you money. Go the extra mile to ensure your clothes stay their best for longer.
  • Learn how to repair or adapt your clothing - learning sewing skills can be used in many ways, adapting, repairing, changing, modifying - creating your own way of keeping your clothing going not only promotes its life but updates it in an individual way
